This group of 7 galaxies (actually there are 9 visible but only 7
have NGC designation) is known as the Copeland's septet or Hickson 57.
It lies about 480 million light-years away in the constellation Leo.
From left to right:
Upper group of 3 - NGC 3748, NGC 3745, NGC 3746
Lower group of 3 - NGC 3753, NGC 3754, NGC 3750
Bottom - NGC 3751
The "bright" start is Mag 8
A supernova was discovered April 1st 2005 in NGC 3746 (SN2005BA). It is
clearly visible on this image (see finder chart below).
